rhimsl Posted 11 November , 2005 Share Posted 11 November , 2005 Just read an article from the Associated Press that states there are now only eight WWI veterans left receiving benefits from the US government. In the US the last known American veteran wounded in the war died at 108 in January. I was lucky enough to get to know one US veteran who fought with the 33rd Infantry Division. He passed away about 5 years ago at the age of 99. He was one tough old bird, but he sure had some great stories! Cheers to all on Armistace Day!
