does anyone know how these young fellows died.

boy m.carson 3513561,1st batt manchester regt,died 5-6-21

boy c,a chapman 3513058,1st batt manchester regt,died 5-6-21

boy john carson 3513044,1st batt manchester regt, died 5-6-21

they have a war grave, but the war has been over nearly 3yrs,what qualifies them for a war grave, its only curiosity not critisism, they were aged 18,17 and 16,respectively,only kids, bloody shame, bernard

Where is the war grave?

Could it have been a training accident? Incident while on board ship?

No expert (on anything) of course but would suggest illness or an accident.

Just another thought; wasn't the 'flu still doing the rounds at the time?

Suggest you need to have a trip to Ashton Local Heritage Library to look up the newspapers. I think it's now at the Central Library @ Aston and not Stalybridge.

Accident sounds favourite.
