Bryn_Hammond Posted 8 November , 2005 Share Posted 8 November , 2005 I believe these two names to be those of the same gentleman - Everest being the pseudonym of the writer of 'The First Battle of the Tanks', published in 1942. Can anybody shed any light on him and confirm or gainsay any of the somewhat conceited claims made in the preface to the book:- "The author was educated at a well known public school, and while resident there it was predicted he would one day distinguish himself as an artist ... blah blah ... enlisted in a local 'Pal's' [sic] battalion ... Passed unfit by doctors ... refused a staff position in London, and served all the war in the ranks (where he was a self-proclaimed crack shot, incidentally) etc, etc... The experiences he describes mainly relate to 30th November 1917. Bryn
