AndyHollinger Posted 7 November , 2005 Share Posted 7 November , 2005 Now that's as strong an opinion on Haig as I've seen on this forum ... I come to a thread from a noted member of the board on a hot topic and it's completely empty! Have we run out of things to say abouit Haig? PhilB Posted 7 November , 2005 Share Posted 7 November , 2005 Mmmm.. I wonder! Perhaps it was due to my referring to Haig`s tendency repeatedly to say that he deserved no credit or rewards and wanted none as any success was all due to a higher power. But nevertheless hoovered them up at the end. Phil B
AndyHollinger Posted 7 November , 2005 Author Share Posted 7 November , 2005 I love Pop Culture ... "Hoovered them up!" The phrase just speaks of an upright ... enough noice to wake the dog next door and all sorts of debri leaving the run and into the bag!
PhilB Posted 7 November , 2005 Share Posted 7 November , 2005 I must admit that, not being a great Haig fan, I hoovered up bad impressions rather than good ones, but I did say that some of the traits I`d observed might be desirable in a CinC. Knowing that my views were biassed, I also said I looked forward to reading other members` views. The truth is in there somewhere. Maybe. Unless those revisionist historians have moved the goalposts again! Phil B
