salientguide Posted 6 November , 2005 Share Posted 6 November , 2005 A friend contacted me trying to find out any further information on his uncle George Lewington, RFC. Family history has him killed in a collision during training. CWGC has him as a 2nd Lt killed 23/12/17 and buried in Enfieldbut no other info. Any pal have access to RFC officers died or other source that might give any other information squadron nok etc. Have advised friend to try a visit to the National Archive but any information welcomed. HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 7 November , 2005 Share Posted 7 November , 2005 I suggest contacting RAF Museum @ Hendon who I am told hold Crash Records of WW1 Aircraft & may be able to help with some information on the actual aircraft & crash.
