The Guardroom Posted 4 November , 2005 Share Posted 4 November , 2005 Today on the 89th anniversary, remembering my Gt Grandfather Pte. William Evans, G/20126 of the 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment who died of wounds on the 4th November 1916; inflicted at Le Transloy on the 28th October. Aged 38 and now buried with his other brave comrades in Grove Town Cemetery. Remembered with pride "You can keep your Buffs; your Greys and the Guards, they won't come up to the jolly Die Hard's".
