Stephen Nulty Posted 2 November , 2005 Share Posted 2 November , 2005 Philippe Not much help I'm afraid, but there is somefamily tree information at http://ivan.wys.com.au/gedpage/nti00242.htm which supports the CWGC date of death of 30/051918. The British YMCA can be contacted via http://www.ymca.org.uk/

Last year I spent a useful day at Birmingham University Library which holds many WWI YMCA archives - photo albums, minutes etc. See www.special-coll.bham.ac.uk and search for YMCA. Despite wearing a helmet she died from shrapnel injury to her left temple whilst sheltering behind a hedge. Her parents published a book about her which included her letters home and memories of her (Betty Stevenson, Y.M.C.A.- Longman, Green & Co, 1920). Her CWGC date of death is correct. Her photograph can be found here:- http://www.silentcities.co.uk/cemeterye/Et...s-de-Calais.htm
