Ken Devitt Posted 1 November , 2005 Share Posted 1 November , 2005 I was checking the MIC of Matthew McGoona (unusual name) who was the grandfather of an old friend of mine and found that he served as a driver with the Army Service Corps. Could anyone explain what the initials preceeding the numbers mean and why they would have changed. TS/5473 T/10928 (Royal Army Ordnance Corps 020360) and back to ET/58836 Appreciate the help, Ken
Arthur Posted 2 November , 2005 Share Posted 2 November , 2005 Hi Ken, Sorry don't have much for you. TS/5473 = Old Army Transport Specials [Trades][own series of numbers before 1915]: Drivers Saddlers Wheelers Farriers Shoeing Smiths Also used by Remounts. My reference gives 'T' as Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Regards Arthur
