Myrtle Posted 1 November , 2005 Share Posted 1 November , 2005 Pte Harry Morgan from Cwmllynfell in the Swansea Valley enlisted at Armoury House. His gravestone at Mesnil, bears the inscription in Welsh "He died a martyr for his country. There is an empty space in his mother and father's home." One of the many empty spaces in homes across the land.
Steven Broomfield Posted 1 November , 2005 Share Posted 1 November , 2005 Myrtle - that's really touching. Poor old Harry was (I assume, regarding the entry in the Regtl History) was one two men killed and 5 wounded when 'C' Coy was caught while engaged in fatigue and salvage work.
