Shark,

There are 133 William Parkers on SDGW, having trawled through them there are a fair few in the West Midland area. However, this is the only one with a match on the place lived

William Parker # 200936, Private

1/5th Royal Warwickshire Regiment (Territorial)

Killed in Action 10/8/17

Enlisted Birmingham

Residence Smethick, Birmingham.

If you go to the CWGC site it says son of Mary Ann Parker of 54 Edith Road, Smethwick, Staffs, aged 22.

Buried New Irish Farm Cemetery, Plot X11.E.8.

This lady should be able to say either way with the family details. Hope this helps a little but it should be easy to find out if this is her grandfather.

Andy
