Went to France with 7th Bedfordshire Regiment, 26.7.1915 (That was the date the the rest of the battalion and the rest of 18th Division went to France) Commissioned to 3rd East Surrey Regiment as 2/Lieutenant. Entitled to 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. It looks like all of the medals were reissued, the 1915 Star in 1920 and the BWm & VM in 1921. The bottom comment is not all that clear but it might read "Em issued (an oakleaf for being Mentioned in Despatches) on 1-9-1920" It's difficult to know what reason they were re-issued for.
