Swine Posted 26 October , 2005 Share Posted 26 October , 2005 Hi PFF, Albatros DVa D.7098/17 was from a batch of 550 ordered on Oct 1917 (Serial range 7000-7549). According to research by Dan-San Abbott, Pilot and Jasta are unidentified, but it might be Jasta 77b which used Blue Stabilizers/White Elevators and Rudder as their markings. WWW.Aerodrome.com is a good place to find any new info and to contact Dan-San. Swine

Regulus 1 Posted 26 October , 2005 Share Posted 26 October , 2005 Hi, Indeed for the moment most of us think it has to do with Jasta 77, but there's no more information available. As you may know it was not unusual for pilot to give their plane a name. I have a large number of examples in the Marine Feldjasta's and even with the Marine Feldflieger Abteilungen. The planes whose story is identified, mostly were photographed together with their pilot or crew. If that is not the case, it becomes extremely hard. Sorry that all this is not much help...
