7th South Lancs Xmas 1917

Can anyone please tell me the whereabouts and activities of the 7th South Lancs on Christmas Day 1917?

Nothing of note mentioned in the Regimental History. I get the impression that they were in the area of Ribecourt and the last action mentioned (an offensive patrol) took place on 19th Dec.

All that's mentioned for the 25th is the CO (Lt-Col.Winser) transferring to the MGC and Major H.A.Bromilow of the Lancs Hussars taking over temporary command.

Dave.

Chris,

you've probably tried this, but....

A quick scan of SDGW reveals just a small handful of 'DoW' for December 1917, and no KIAs that I could see.

Cheers,

S
