Tom Morgan Posted 18 October , 2005 Share Posted 18 October , 2005 Hello, mroseberry - welcome to the Forum. 19/751 Private William Renney was in the 18th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry. He was killed in action on the 18th May, 1917. He was born in Sunderland. The Battles of the Somme took place in 1916. The British army was involved in fighting around Arras in June 1917. Pte. Renney has no known grave and he's commemorated by name on the Arras Memorial to the Missing. Tom
