I would imagine that he was kept on some sort of reserve list after this date. As he originally came from Aberdeen and now stayed in Bo'ness near Edinburgh what reserve list would he be kept on? When he was called up to go with the B.E.F. what unit would he join ? His old unit the R.H.A. or the Royal Scots based in Edinburgh ? He survived the war by the way.
