chrisharley9 Posted 9 October , 2005 Share Posted 9 October , 2005 Suffering from a moment of madness (several in actual fact), but I'm planning a visit to Ypres in Jan. Any advice on whats open or closed would be greatly appreciated. As I'm on foot does anyone know anything about the local buses - I know that most of the buses leave from the Market Place. Neil Mackenzie Posted 9 October , 2005 Share Posted 9 October , 2005 Chris. Great time to go. Because there are no crops or leaves you get great line of sight views (unless there is a blizzard of course!). Mid week only a dozen or so people at the Last Post ceremony which gives it a completely different atmosphere. I think the Zonnebeke museum is closed but In Flanders Fields is open most of the week. Take thermal underwear though - when I went this January even though the sun shone it was b~@*dy cold. Not sure about buses - I would think cycling would be a better option without a car but maybe that time of year it would be a bit dodgy. Have a good trip.
