One for the Haigists, Channel 5 next Friday at 7.30pm. Patrick Corrigan puts the case for Haigs inclusion as a Great British Commander.

No comment I don't want to stir up that eternal debate again!

You can only imagine my embarrassment at not having checked all 27 sub sections to this web site before posting a quick FYI, thankfully you have pointed out that the same information was posted 2 days earlier elsewhere on the site and helpfully provided a link so that people can read the same information again

A nice line in put downs Griffy!! Watched the programme and enjoyed it. It's a pity it was only on for half an hour.

Got to watch it before the girls came round and enjoyed it but have to agree a shame it was only half an hour but then if it had longer would have missed the rest.

Altogether now (as in SPLHCB) ... and in the loving and everlasting memory of Python, Monty ....

Haig, Haig, Haig, Haig ... wonderful Haig ....

Or, if more to your liking ..

Haig, Haig, Haig, Haig, ... horrible Haig ....

Wot's got more Haig ... Somme or Flanders?

But I don't like Haig ...

Well, you can have Palestine ... that ain't got much Haig ...

But, I don't like sand ... or poetic, blue eyed, blonde ameatures leading arab revolts ....

Can I have your Haig? I love Haig ...

And on it goes ... till we get a vist from .... (sharp cords of music)

The Spanish Inquisition!

Nobody Expects the Spanish inquisition! Our Chief weapon is bibliography ... and a key sense of apologetics over casualties ...

hmmm ... Our TWO weapons are ...

oops, sorry.

Oh, I'm General Jack, and I'm okay,

I plan all night and I battle all day.

Chorus:

He's a General Jack, and he's okay,

He plans all night and battles all day.

I like to wear... OOPS
