Does anyone have any information about this company? I would like to know where they were in action between 1916 -1917. My great grandfather served with them.

Thankyou.

Jenny.

Jenny, the HAC had a Siege Battery which went to France (equipped with 4 x 6" howitzers) in May '17, as part of 88th Heavy Artillery group. The groups system was used to combine batteries of siege guns, of different calibres, into operational commands.

There are many more knowledgable about artillery than me on this forum, but 900 seems a remarkably high number.

I have searched through The Honourable Artillery Company in the Great War and can find no reference to 900 Group. Can you give the context in which it was mentioned? Dick Flory
