Hoplophile Posted 4 October , 2005 Share Posted 4 October , 2005 I recently came across a very interesting collection of British Army recruiting posters in, of all places, the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. I am wondering if Crown Copyright extends to these. To find these posters, go to this URL http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/pphome.html and type in the words British recruiting posters
zooloo Posted 4 October , 2005 Share Posted 4 October , 2005 Crown copyright expires (I believe) after 50 years. However the website may own the copyright on the actual scans. Their bit about it is here http://lcweb2.loc.gov/pp/pphelp.html#permission But it isn't that helpful. zoo
Alan_J Posted 4 October , 2005 Share Posted 4 October , 2005 I thought Crown Copyright in fact lasted longer than others? I seem to remember reading this somewhere - and it also depends when the images were p[roduced. As mentioned many times on this forum, copyright is a thorny and complex topic.........
