Bert Heyvaert Posted 3 October , 2005 Share Posted 3 October , 2005 How were English and Scottish men (who lived in Russia when the First World War started) shipped to the UK when they volunteerded? I have read a testimony about them being transported to Archangelsk. The problem is to know how they went to the UK from there. Did they cross the Barentz Sea or did they go to Vladivostok and all around the south of Asia, through the Suez Channel? The person I heard of arrived in the UK at about January 1915. Isn't the Barentz Sea frozen then ? Thanks in advance for your replies.
