Remembered Today:

Recommended Posts

Remembering the men of the 1st and 6th Welsh (Territorial) who died during the attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt on 1st and 2nd October 1915 and who are buried or commemorated in the Quarry Cemetery, Dud Corner, Bethune cemetery and elsewhere.

Loos may be called the "Forgotten Battle", but "We will remember them"

Some years ago I walked through a cemetery in the village of Skewen (near Neath) while my car was being repaired. A gravestone recorded the loss of a son killed at Loos and buried in France. Can't recall if he was with the Welsh but a reasonable chance. As we know the war left little part of GB untouched.
