Brilliant. Thank you very much.

I met his grandson this morning who didn't know much about his grandfather's service! I am sure he will be delighted with the information.

Mark,

No problem, if you need some of the regiment's accounts of the actions let me know. Sources were:

The Rifle Brigade Century - The Officers of The Rifle Brigade 1800 tp 1905

A Rifle Brigade Who's Who 1905 - 1963

The Rifle Brigade Chronicle 1946

Hope he is pleased, if you need a digital of the picture let me know.

Andy,

I am due to speak to the grandson again in the near future. He thinks he has a copy of his grandfather's diaries that cover the Sudan, Boer War and first couple of years of WW1. I hope to be able to take a copy and subject to his approval, I will make a copy available to you if you wish.

I am most grateful to you for your help.

Regards,

Mark

Matty,

I have spoken to the grandson this morning. He is currently trying to find the diaries but recalls that there is little concerning his service with the RAF.

When I have sight of them, I'll let you know.

Mark,

Just bouncing this up to the top wondering if there is any more news of this gentlemans diaries. I have several Sudan groups in my collection and would dearly love to know his version of Omdurman.
