maxi Posted 27 September , 2005 Share Posted 27 September , 2005 I am a regular visitor to a small village about 30 miles north of Paris called Vic sur Aisne. It is a great place for a holiday and on my first stay there I noticed the 'pock marks' caused by the large rail mouted guns of the Great War together with bullet marks. There are some caves nearby at Confrecourt which also claims to be the place where the war against the advancing German Army of 1918 was stemmed followed by their subsequent defeat. Does anyone know anything more of this area, such as the carvings in the caves?
robbie Posted 2 October , 2005 Share Posted 2 October , 2005 A little Googling revealed that American servicemen have recorded their experiences which are reproduced at this address: http://www.lib.byu.edu/~rdh/wwi/memoir/AFShist/AFS1d.htm RObbie
