Recommended Posts

Just got a copy of Officers taken POW 1914-1918.

Usual info is name, regiment, when posted missing and when repatriated.

Occasional other info i.e. died in captivity or escaped.

Happy to do any look-ups.

Bob.

Bob,

Please will you have a shufti for Cecil (or Cedric) Marshall, Black Watch. I don't know his rank, battalion or any dates. He was interned in a camp in or around Karlsruhe.

Thanks

Rob.

Anthony,

Capt W G Pearson listed as missing on June 16th 1915 and repatriated in September of 1917.

No place of internment given but interestingly quite a few from this regt repatriated in 1917.

Hope this is of some help.

Bob.

I would be obliged if you could see if there is any info on a Lt GF Knight RAF/RW Surrey Regt - I believe he escaped from a POW Camp & was awarded an MC for it.

Many Thanks

Will

Thanks Bob for the info. on Pearson. I don't know yet as to why he was repatriated in 1917, although he was wounded in the attack at Festubert.

Bob - Thanks for the info - trying to glean as much as poss on this illusive character - All indications he survived the war (MC awarded December 1919) but he is listed on a local memorial - No CWGC record which suggests death occured after the cut off date (31/8/21??)
