Tony Lund Posted 24 September , 2005 Share Posted 24 September , 2005 This is a copy of the Diary of Sergeant Sanderson 2nd Battalion, KRRC. It is around 12,000 words, mostly in the form of short notes, covering the period from August to November 1914. It covers mobilisation, the journey to Mons, the Retreat from Mons. The battles of the Marne and the Anise and the evolution of trench warfare. The army then moves north to Ypres in Belgium and after a few days the sergeant is shot in the ankle. The diary finishes when he reaches the base hospital. Sgt Sanderson. Tony.
