The man I am researching George H Hardy was killed with battalion on this day and lies in La Brique Military Cemetery No 2, Ieper.

Can anyone help please

Thanks

Hi Peter

I do not know where 2nd Bn York & Lancs were on the 17/02/16 but I can give a rough idea. According to the 20th Div. history, their right was B15, which lay between Algerian Cottage and Forward Cottage (the latter being in the 6th Div. sector). At this time the 16th Brigade were the 6th Divisions left flank and only holding their front with one battalion. According to the 1/K.S.L.I.'s diary, they relieved 1/Buffs at Forward Cottage on the 7th Feb., the 8/Bedfords had moved in the K.S.L.I. positions at Burgomaster Farm and Canal Bank. I would make the guess that the 2nd Bn York & Lancs at Wood A30 near Poperinghe. The 8/Bedfords relieved the Shropshires from front & Support trenches on the 11th Feb., so again guessing-the 2nd Bn York & Lancs would have moved to Burgomaster Farm and Canal Bank and would have relieved the 8/Bedfords in front & Support trenches at Forward Cottage by about the 15th Feb.
