I know from the naming that it is very unlikely that he was in the R.N or R.A.F, as other medals I have to officer members of these two services always have that listed with the name on the medal. I have checked the on-line medal index card, but cannot find this chap [at present] Could it be that he served in a Commonwealth unit, or do medals to them carry unit details ? Thanks for looking.
