I'm researching the village war memorial of Wangford, Suffolk & would be grateful for any details on this chap or his ship. The war memorial shows he was with HMS Queen which I assume was the converted battleship - any details would be appreciated.

Hello

John Aldred died of illness.

QUEEN was the base ship for the drifter.

Queen was the base ship/ accommodation ship at Toranto for trawlers and drifters.

His RNR service cards are on microfiche in BT 377 at Kew.
