aconnolly Posted 17 September , 2005 Share Posted 17 September , 2005 I'm after entry for October 22-24 1918 of the 6th Batt Royal Scots. Very grateful if anyone can help. Andrew
Malcolm Posted 18 September , 2005 Share Posted 18 September , 2005 Would this be to do with David Stuart MacGregor, 6th Royal Scots attached MGC, VC? I have the Royal Scots history if that helps. Aye Malcolm
aconnolly Posted 3 October , 2005 Author Share Posted 3 October , 2005 Correct Malcolm. Apologies for not replying sooner - somehow missed your post. I have the history you refer to, but I'm trying to find more about the events surrounding the VC action. Lt McGregor was my wife's Great Uncle. The family have always wondered what happened to the driver of the limber that took off across 600 yards of open ground with Uncle Stuart on the back! I've tried VC forums without success. The citation refers to the driver "being hit", but we would very much like to know who he was, and his fate/history. As Lt McGregor was attached to the Machine Gun Corps, I'm not sure if I should be after Royal Scots diaries or MGC? Advice gladly welcome!
