anneg001 Posted 13 September , 2005 Share Posted 13 September , 2005 I read the diary of a german soldier that my library had. by Feldwebel C published in New York Alfred A. Knopf 1919. I have a hard time believing this is genuine. Supposedly written in French for the French.. payot et Cie 1918 Any one has come across this book? Hoplophile Posted 27 February , 2006 Share Posted 27 February , 2006 I've run across an American edition of this book. While I didn't do a full investigation, I found that the unit locations and other similar details were accurate. However, it is possible that these were taken from the German 'Grey Book', which was a very detailed propaganda piece dealing with atrocities committed by Belgian franc tireurs against German soldiers.
