Guest StephenW Posted 10 September , 2005 Share Posted 10 September , 2005 This is a very good and detailed account of the British Army in Italy for the period except for no discussion of the RGA HAG activities which unfortunately was my prime concern for reading it. However it is the most complete account that I have read to date giving good pre-1917 context to the theatre and good decriptions of life at the soldier level. It contains good maps, which have helped me to locate or infer the movements of the HAG I am interested in, and a good selection of photographs and quotes from comtemporay sources. At 221 pages, it is highly recommended and the ISBN is 0 85052 608.6 (Leo Cooper 1998) Steve
MartinWills Posted 30 September , 2005 Share Posted 30 September , 2005 Whilst I would agree with the positive comments about coverage I have delved into thsi several times and found it a little dry in style but well worth persevering with.
