Chap on the Antiques Roadshow brought in a wristwatch which turned out to have belonged to Lawrence.

Value of the watch was put at £2000 until the Lawrence connection was found, value was then put at £5000 to £10000.!!

Yes, the amazing thing was that the owner didn't realise it was Lawrence's watch! The guarantee certificate was in the name of TE Shaw of Cloud's House, Dorset. Lawrence called himself Shaw when he joined the Royal Air Force as an Aircraftsman.

I was in my local Oxfam shop today and saw they had a first edition of "The Mint" which is Shaw/Lawrence's book about his experiences in the R.A.F. Whoopee thought I until I looked inside the front cover and saw they had priced it at £20 !

As regards that watch, I really did covet it . I have visited Clouds Hill , Lawrence's grave and his effigy at Wareham. Extraordinary how lady luck dispenses such gorgeous items to folk who do not appreciate what they have in the slightest degree. Someone upstairs is really mischievous !
