armourersergeant Posted 9 September , 2005 Share Posted 9 September , 2005 Their is a picture portrait of him floating around on ebay at the moment and the below gives some of his bio Lieutenant-General Sir Edward Hutton (16/9/1914 to 11/4/1915) Service biography Ensign, 60 Foot 1867; South Africa 1881; Egypt 1882; Egypt 1884-1885; Australia 1893-1896; Assistant Adjutant General, Ireland 1896-1898; Commander, Dominion Militia (Canada), recruiting and organising Canadian contingents for South African War 1898-1900; Commander, Transvaal, South African War 1900-1901; Australia 1901-1904; General Officer Commanding 3 Div, Eastern Command 1906; retired 1906; Commander, 21 Div, 3 Army, World War I 1914-1915; retired medically unfit 1915 regards Arm Ps he was commander of 21st division but was too old to take it over sea.
