alan jones Posted 6 September , 2005 Share Posted 6 September , 2005 Hello, My grandfather served 10/11/1915 - 28/6/1921 and was awarded B.W, V.Medal and 1914-15 Star. On a couple of 'slips' I received from H.D. Glasgow {Army Book 358} under the heading- Rate of Pension awarded {if any} it states rejected! Why? Surely after winning medals he should not be rejected! Any ideas why? Regards Alan
SPotter Posted 6 September , 2005 Share Posted 6 September , 2005 Alan, Men enlisting 'for the duration' were not entitled to a pension on discharge, unless discharged disabled, when a medical pension would be payable. Regards Steve
alan jones Posted 6 September , 2005 Author Share Posted 6 September , 2005 Thanks Steve, It was seeing the term 'Rejected' which annoyed me, thanks for clearing that up . Regards, Alan
