Further to my previuos post regarding men on my local War Memorial, for which I thank Tim for his information. I have some more names for which I am looking to see if they have a link to Raunds through SDGW.

They are as follows

2. Moule, W Died I believ in 1916. Cannot find him on CWGC, but the name is correct from the memorial.

3. Orton G M. 2nd Bn East Surrey. Died 4/10/1918 S/no 7145

4. Finding, Harry. 1st Bn, Bedfordshire Regt. died 25/9/1917. s/no 29460

5. Spicer, Jack. 122nd Coy, Machine Gun Corps. Died 21/9/1917. S/no 106730

6. Nunley, S F Cannot find him anywhere on CWGC. If anyone has any ideas.

7. Spriggs, Charles Henry. 5th Bn, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Died 10/10/1918 s/no 30068

8. Stubbs, Philip Ernest. 16th Bn, Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Died 3/11/1916 S/no R/18631

9. White, F A 4th Bn The Kings (Liverpool) Regt. Died 15/2/1919 S/no 51208

Sorry its a little long winded, but any links to Raunds would more or less confirm these for me. Thanks in anticipation

Re: your man S F Nunley.

The birth of Stanley Frederick Nunley was registered in Q4/1892 in Thrapston, a district which includes Raunds.

He was the son of Thomas & Eliza Nunley and in the 1901 census they lived in Redrow, Raunds.

He may have died after the CWGC cut off date, hence his omission from their register.

And the last few I can track down.

Orton G M. 2nd Bn East Surrey. Died 4/10/1918 S/no 7145

Perhaps George Mundin Orton, birth registered September quarter 1897 in Wellingborough district.

However, there is one George Orton aged 26 on the 1901 census living at Brook Street, Raunds. He is a shoe cutter.

Frederick Athol White, birth registered September quarter 1898, Thrapston.

1901 census. Living at Wellington Road, Raunds, aged 2. Son of Walter (a shoemaker) and Nellie, brother of Roland (4).
