Remembered Today:

Somme visit- 21-25 September

burlington

Recommended Posts

My wife & I will be in the Somme & Pas de Calais areas 21-25 September as a start of a holiday in Alsace.

She wants me to show her why I always go back to the Somme and also to Avril's (no comments please from those who know me!!).

I have a couple of pics already to take. Anyone else want a pic taken? Nothing guaranteed though.

Also will anyone be around then for a meet up at Tommy's? Even though I have company, a beer is always welcome.

Regards to all

Martin

No, but what do you want?

I will visit locations as required if possible but, as I said, nothing is guaranteed.

Why don't you PM me with what you want.

Martin,

Any chance of one at the Pozieres Memorial for me please?

Pte Ernest Arthur Allcock, Notts & Derby Regiment

Also, without wanting to sound cheeky but if you go anywhere near Cambrai i would be extremely grateful of CSM Harry Slack, Notts & Derby.

Please do not go out of your way.

Have a great trip

Martin,

if at all possible, could you take a pic standing east of Oviller La Boiselle looking north east to Poizieres. The fields where the 1/1 OBLI attacked in july '16.

I'd be super gratefull but understand if you can't get there.

Cheers,

Gordo

Sorry Dave, don't think I can do.

I am essentially showing 'her indoors' the Somme before going down to Alsace and really can only take pics in the immediate locality.

However, next April, if you are stuck.....
