ErnieNoakes Posted 31 August , 2005 Share Posted 31 August , 2005 I am researching this period of 1st Ypres. If anyone has info on the actions of the 1st Bn. during this period I would be grateful. Regards, Ernie
dycer Posted 31 August , 2005 Share Posted 31 August , 2005 Ernie, This is slightly off-topic I am assuming you are researching the 7th Division. The photographs I e-mailed this morning are men of the 8th Royal Scots who joined 22nd Brigade on the 11th November 1914. George

Hywyn Posted 24 January , 2006 Share Posted 24 January , 2006 Ernie I am new to this site and to this sort of 'chat' so bear with me if I'm a bit slow on the uptake:) I have the Regimental Records of the RWF produced by Dudley Ward. From a quick look at that time period it seems to include a Battle of Gheluvelt (29th-31st Oct). There's a map showing 1st RWF with 7th Cavalry Brigade to their right and to their left,2nd R ScotsFus. 2nd Gr. How. 2nd Queens and then 1st Queens. They were faced by the German 39th Div and an 'Army Group Fabech' It contains quite a bit of details and I'm wondering how to impart this to you. Have you specific queries or just the time period in general? Hywyn PS My interest( at least at the moment ) lie in identifying and understanding what happened to the men from my home area in Caernarfonshire. Mostyly RWF.
