Does any Pal know what SPTS means when used as a prefix for a service number please

The prefix is for the "Sportsmens" Battalions of the 23rd & 24th(Service)Bn's, Royal Fusiliers.

Percy Thomas Head SPTS/153 Serjeant "D" Coy. 23rd Bn Royal Fusiliers. Born Canonbury Enlisted London Resident Tottenham. Died of wounds 1st August 1916. Age 36. Son of Arthur and Georgina Ann Head, of Tottenham, London.
