Does anyone have a copy of "Under the Guns of the Red Baron" by Norman Franks" that could do a look up for me on his 57th victory (53 Sqdn RE8 of Whatley/Pascoe)?

Tom Morgan recently gave me a copy of the excellent book "The Red Baron - Beyond the Legend" by Peter Kilduff.

The appendix lists Von Richthofen's aerial victories.

You are correct 57th victim was Whatley and Pascoe.

Sgt H.A. Whatley (KiA) & 2/Lt F.G.B Pascoe (KiA) from 53 Sqdn RFC

Von Richthofen's reported the action as follows:

"Deulemont, between the lines, 10:20 am

I attacked the forward aircraft of an enemy squadron. The observer collapsed under the first shots. The pilot was mortally hit shortly thereafter. The R.E. dropped. I fired some shots at the falling aircraft from 50 metres distance until flames came out of the machine and the opponent crashed in flames."
