PFF Posted 24 August , 2005 Share Posted 24 August , 2005 Saw in a referene book a photo of a Aeroplane trailing smoke taken from above. Possibly real-could it have been shot down by Guynemer ? For that matter would WWI photography have been able to take pictures of aeroplanes coming down out of the sky-or does such action pictures belong to WW2? Dolphin Posted 12 September , 2005 Share Posted 12 September , 2005 There are two photographs taken by Guynemer at http://www.earlyaviator.com/archive1.htm this is one, labelled Enemy Aeroplane over Champagne. Gareth
Dolphin Posted 12 September , 2005 Share Posted 12 September , 2005 Further to my earlier post, here's the second, titled Victory over Albatros D.III. It may be Guynemer's 47th claim on 6 July 1917, north of Craonne, or his 47th confirmed victory on 7 July 1917, over Villers Franchex. The victim in the second case was Ltn Reinhold Oertelt of Jasta 19, who was killed in action at 1110 near Cauroy. Gareth
