Remembered Today:

Eernegem memorial

Guest Fabrice

Recommended Posts

I live in the lovely town Eernegem, nearby Ostend.

I live on it's market-place and everytime i open the door,

i get to see this weeping lady.

She's our memorial for the victims of war.

She has the looks of Mother Mary.

Who else could be a better symbol for greef and a cry for peace?

In the next few replies you'll see some detailed photographs and a translation of the original words written in the statue.

Yours,

Fabrice.

en niemand

schrikt meer wakker in de nacht

en niemand vreest nog voor een nieuwe morgen

NOBODY

WILL EVER GET WOKEN UP BY FEAR AT NIGHT

AND NOBODY WIL FEAR A NEW MORNING

OUR STREETS

OUR PLACES WILL SING

LAUGH & AND HAVE LAUGHTER

IN THE NAME OF PEACE
