Chris_B Posted 21 August , 2005 Share Posted 21 August , 2005 What was going at Galipoli around 03/07/1915 with 1st Bn. Border Regiment ? SDGW lists around 50 men KIA/DOW in two days 28-29/06/1915 and around another 7 DOW in first few days of July. Does war diary or regimental history throw any light on this? One casaulty on 3/7/1915 buried at PINK FARM CEMETERY, HELLES. Thanks, Chris.
Chris_B Posted 21 August , 2005 Author Share Posted 21 August , 2005 Maybe someone will tell me if I'm wrong, but this looks like the battle of "Gully Ravine" which commenced 28th June 1915. Chris.

CROONAERT Posted 21 August , 2005 Share Posted 21 August , 2005 What was going at Galipoli around 03/07/1915 with 1st Bn. Border Regiment ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All that's mentioned in the Regimental History for this day is: On the 3rd July three young officers - Lieutenants Frink, Hamilton and Coggin, 10th Staffords - joined for duty, while another - Lieutenant Lester- was killed whilst in charge of a working party. That's it for 3rd July! (Quite a bit of detail for the 28th though) Dave.
