Chris_Baker Posted 13 August , 2005 Share Posted 13 August , 2005 I am researching 51261 L/Cpl (A/Sgt) Albery Henry Stevens DCM MM, who served with 11th Hussars (as L/Cpl 6365) from August 1914 to February 1916 and then with a unit of the MGC(Cavalry). He was a regular soldier, discharged to Class B reserve in March 1919. I have searched the online London Gazette looking for an award of the Croix de Guerre until I'm blue in the face, without success. But I am always rather unsure whether that search engine finds everything. Can anyone with any info on this award confirm whether Stevens was a recipient? Indeed, any other info about this man would be gratefully received.
Steven Broomfield Posted 13 August , 2005 Share Posted 13 August , 2005 For what help it is, Walker's 'DCM recipients' has him as a corporal, with DCM gazetted 13.2.17. No other decorations mentioned there.
