Chris_B Posted 11 August , 2005 Share Posted 11 August , 2005 Household Battalion were part of 4t h Division (XVII Corps) who fought at Arras in 1917. If anyone have access to war diary/history, I'd like to know their disposition and any actions around and on 09/05/1917. Thanks, Chris.

If you don't mind me asking, your relative Pvt R.W.Hamblin 11th Batt Border Regt does not appear in the CWGWC register (assuming my search was not wrong). Did you find out why? I haven't looked at the SDGW to see if he appears there. I'm begining to wonder just how many men might be missing from the CWGC register. I was looking for a "HABLIN F", a name that appears on a war memorial. I was coming the conclusion that the name was mis-spelt, there is no MIC entry in that name, and HAMLIN of HAMBLIN may have been an alternative, but nothing really matches. Chris. Hambo Posted 15 August , 2005 Share Posted 15 August , 2005 Hi Chris He is there, along with 30 odd other Hamblins, including a few F Hamblins. I have done a little work on them so would be interested in which one you were looking for because your man sounds like a misspelling of one kind or another to me. I'm hopeless at creating a link but the address for Reg Hamblin is http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/casualty_...casualty=524287 All the best Hambo
