Hello Chris,

1/7th Middlesex was in 167th Brigade, 56th Division. At the time you write the division was involved in the Battle of Flers-Courcelette, so the battalion might have been there as well.

Cheers,

Wienand

Hi Chris, :)

Maltz Horn Farm 18-9-16

Front line north-west side of Bouleaux Wood 22-9-16. Here the same trench was held by the enemy, being seperated by a tank that had fallen into the trench on the 15th.

Withdrew to reserve positions 24-9-16.

Interesting information about the tank !! Hope this all helps.

Cheers

Tim.

Wienand,

Been a bit slow here - 56th Dvision at Flers-Courcelette, first use of tanks etc...

Tim,

A Tanks of course, from the attack of 15th at Leuze Wood and Bouleaux Wood. I've read one acount that this was C14 ( (2/Lt Arnold) stuck in "Beef Trench" which appears to fit with your information.

Thanks,

Chris.
