same numbers

there are many cases of soldiers having the same number,but has anyone ever come across anything like these two.

pte harold,g mathews

cpl john meikle

both 16th manchesters,both in B coy,both in V platoon and both in the same photo,their numbers being 6526,and to round it off,they are next to each other in the list of names,anyone else come across a similar instance,bernard

chris,in the book of honour their numbers are as you state,but the medal index cards say they are both numbered 6526,how are we going to work this one out chris,official docs say 6526 and a unofficial book says 6525 <_< do you reckon we will be ok ignoring the MIC card and go off the number in the book,bernard

In this particular case, I certainly would Bernard. Errors creep in to all sources regardless of whether they are official or not. Simple human nature.

and theres this one,cpl john.purvis bruce,16th batt,A coy,iv platoon,No 6348,also in the same coy is pte 6348 george.h bruce,j p bruce went on to be a lieutenant in the manchesters,bernard
