Chris,

From Ray Westlakes book "British Battalions on the Western Front January to June 1915"

May - June

Returned to the trenches 3rd May then to Bac St. Maur 5th. Moved into assembly trenches south of Rue Petillon during the night 8th and next day took part in attack. War Diary records right half of assault being met by heavy fire upon leaving assembly positions - 3 officers and 120 men lost - "Most casualties occured before reaching La Riviere des Layes." Left half suffered very little. Ordered to retire 9pm and moved back to Bac St. Maur. Total casualties - Captain G.M.D. Mount and Lieutenant R.G.B. Bowen killed, Lieutenant J.H. Seaverns mortally wounded, 2 other officers wounded, 32 other ranks killed, 149 wounded, 13 missing. Moved to Rue de Bruges 11th, trenches at Rue du Bacquerot 15th, La Gorgue in Divisional Reserve 19th, Laventie 24th, Rue du Bacquerot trenches 28th.
