My grandfather travelled with the 7th Division on 4/10/14, they left the UK on the SS turcoman amongst other ships and landed in Zeebrugge, has anyone any info about the SS Turcoman, any pics or any idea about its fate during the war?

I suppose this would be a 5610 grt steamer built in 1892 for Lord Line (Irish Shipowners Co., Ltd), as Lord Erne. Sold in 1899 to the Dominion Line which renamed her as Turcoman. The Dominion Line was bought out by International Mercantile Marine Company in 1902 thought the ship would still have sailed under Dominion Line control. In 1921, Turcoman was transferred to another IMMC company, Leyland Line. Scrapped 1926.

Best wishes,

Michael
