Remembered Today:

Belgian Memorial at Shorncliffe Military Cemetary

Regulus 1

Recommended Posts

Hi,

At Shorncliffe Military Cemetary, Kent are the names of 18 Belgian soldiers which were killed during WW I.

Constante Houdard and Verschueren Hyppolyte are two of them who died in Tontine Street, Folkestone during the Kagohl 3 raid of 25 May 1917. Does anyone know the other names and if there are other victims on the memorial which died due to bombardments ?

Thanks and best from Johan

Terry,

Thank you very, very much ! I've been searching this for months ! I suspect there are many wounded Belgian soldiers who died at Folkestone - Shorncliffe in the early stages of the war.

Thanks and best from Johan

Contact me off-list and I can let you have a list of all the Belgians who died in the UK in WW1 with their cemetery.
