In that I have no evidence that GB would ever have to gone to war on the continent without "someone else starting it" [simplistic beyond belief, but baldly true, as GB was not looking for lebensraum or further expansion], then the British war was "just". As France and Belgium were invaded beyond doubt, put them in the same boat. Twice in my father's lifetime, there was a genuine chance that I would subsequently be speaking German rather better than I do now.
